Driving telemetry that gives underwriters and claims teams real context.
Overview
QDT-VIU-IoT is a model framework for usage-based motor insurance. It is designed to help insurers collect near-real-time vehicle and driver telemetry so actuaries and underwriters can understand driving context, consider safer-driving incentives, and handle claims with richer device history. Historical and real-time device data can support underwriting and pricing analysis at each agreed level of granularity. Insurance decisions remain subject to the insurer’s policies, applicable regulations, and data-governance requirements.
QDT-VIU-IoT does not underwrite policies, approve claims, or replace regulatory obligations. Insurance decisions remain those of the insurer and are subject to applicable law, policy terms, consent, and data-governance requirements. Potential benefits such as fraud reduction or faster claims are not guaranteed.
